GROUP WINS EDUCATION AWARD

On Tuesday 4 November 2003, the DDS Group won one of the Standard Life Education Awards, in the Be All You Can Be category, for its taxi driver training pack. George, Lorrane and Gillian went along to the event and George received the award on behalf of the group.

Lord Provost Lesley Hinds, who presented the trophy and cheque to George, said: "I am delighted that this piece of work is receiving this level of recognition. It is extremely important that we all become active citizens and help to improve quality of life for all of Edinburgh's citizens."

Later in the evening, when the group met, George said: "I felt quite honoured, emotional and proud."

Ellie said: "Other people will be able to do something similar."

Andy said: "It gives me a lot of satisfaction to be recognised in this way."

Caroline said: "It's nice to see the group being taken seriously."

John said: "I'm delighted, chuffed to bits."

David said: "Our influence spreads the word."

Sandra said: "It's a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the group."

Lorrane said: "It's brilliant. It's great to be involved with such an inspirational group."
